The FOURTEENTH Annual 4th of July All Downhill Fun Run was once again a great success. There were 114 runners registered by the time the run began. All levels of enthusiasm, age (1 to 79 years!), experience and training were represented. Finish times are listed below as they have been reported by the runner. Congratulations to all!
A big THANK YOU to the City of Des Moines who loaned us their time clock again.
Thanks to our wonderful volunteers that helped again this year: David Knox of the Normandy Park Running Club, Shawn McEvoy and the NPPD for starting the run off right! David & Aimee Knox, Kay Koitzsch and some wonderful Girl Scouts at Runner Registration. At the finish line, we had Gary Bolma and Barbara Bertuccio at the water/T-shirt table. Thanks to everyone who participated!
***NEWS for next year*** After Fourteen years of organizing our fun run, Kay Koitzsch is retiring from the task! We extend our thanks for all her years of service to NPCC and the community. Kay isn’t going anywhere, she is just going to take a rest – you’ll probably see her at the race next year looking much more relaxed! Aimee & David Knox and Gary Bolma have stepped up to take over the arrangements next year so watch for news of any exciting changes they bring to this wonderful event! (Please pre-register to make it easier for all!)
